LED Projectors & Projector Mapping | Sales & Installation

Projectors are among the most versatile video devices on the market, available as LED projectors, lamp projectors, and laser projectors. With a projector, you can display videos in a large format. However, as TV prices decrease and screen sizes increase, are projectors still necessary?

Large format TV screens are ideal for applications like digital LED signage, video walls, and LED wall displays. Conversely, projectors are better suited for environments with lower ambient light levels. Uses can range from home theatres to large outdoor displays. Advancements in projection mapping technology offer innovative and visually stunning ways to use a projector, creating experiences that must be seen to be believed.

What are The Different Types of Projectors available?

LCD Projectors

Lamp Projectors

Lamp projectors are the traditional type most people are familiar with. They use a powerful light bulb to project images onto a screen. These projectors take time to warm up, lose image brightness after about 10 hours of use, and require internal fans to manage the significant heat they produce.

LED Projectors

LED Projectors

LED projectors deliver better colours, have lower power consumption, and virtually zero maintenance costs. They are also smaller and generate less heat. However, LED projectors have limited brightness compared to LCD or DLP projectors, making them less suitable for rooms with a lot of ambient light.

Laser Projectors

Laser Projectors

Laser-based projectors offer longer-lasting brightness, lower maintenance, and improved colour and contrast compared to similar lamp-based models. The solid-state lasers used in projectors today are very bright, have wider colour spaces, deep black levels, and never require lamp replacement.

How To Choose The Right Projector

There are many factors to consider when choosing a projector: the surface it will project onto, the size of the room, the projector's mounting location, the amount of ambient light, and, of course, your budget.

Selecting the best brands and models can be overwhelming. Fortunately, the team at NZAV is well-trained in projectors and works exclusively with reliable brands like Epson, Panasonic, Christie, and Barco. Projector Screens - Do I Need One & What Are The Differences?

Do I need to install a projector screen? Can’t I just project the image onto a white wall? These are common questions, and we always recommend installing a projector screen.

Traditional paint is not designed to reflect light evenly, resulting in uneven colour, reduced contrast, and a flat image.

The first step is to decide on the desired screen size. From there, you can choose from various setup options, such as manual pull-up or pull-down screens, motorised screens (from the top or bottom), and different aspect ratios (with 16:9 being the most common). Additionally, screens are made from various materials and paints, which can affect the contrast and colour performance of your projector.
